Employee Engagement and Communications

There are a number of working groups which are aimed at reviewing practices within Foodpack. The groups include, staff forums, health and safety, lunch and learns, focus groups, management meetings, team meetings and staff briefings all of which help to improve working life at Foodpack.

Staff Surveys and Suggestions

Constructive feedback is important to us and through quarterly reviews and suggestion schemes, it provides staff with an opportunity to express their views. All feedback is collected maintaining anonymity and is used to inform decisions aimed at improving working conditions.

Continuing Professional & Personal Development

All staff have access to a range of development opportunities and are encouraged to invest in themselves. Opportunities include: E-Learning; Accredited Training; Seminar and Events; 1-2-1 Coaching and Mentoring; Team Development Activities; Mandatory Training/Refreshers; Soft Skills Training; Awareness Sessions; Professional and Legal Training; Job Shadowing, Managerial Training and Health and Safety Training.

Company Shop: Foodpack is registered with Company Shop which offers staff up to 70% discount on their weekly shop. Company Shop is the UK’s largest redistributor of surplus food and FMCG products. From Asda through to Waitrose, Pepsi to Nestle, staff have access to savings on hundreds of household favourites.
Recognition Scheme: through a monthly scheme, staff are recognised for their contribution and commitment to Foodpack.
Uniforms, PPE and Safety Equipment: are provided to staff free of charge at the start of employment and replaced as and when required.


Car park: all staff have access to free secure parking.
Chill out areas: there are several chill out areas for staff, these include: a canteen; picnic area and a comfy chair zone.
First aid: the site has a dedicated, private first aid room and has a number of staff fully qualified in delivering first aid.
Prayer room: Foodpack has a diverse culture and recognises and respects different religions and beliefs and a prayer room or private area can be provided on request.
Vending: several vending machines are located in the canteen offering a range of hot and cold drinks, and hot and cold food.

Health & Wellbeing

Occupational Health: Foodpack and its staff have access to an Occupational Health Service should it be required.
Counselling: confidential counselling is also available through the Employee Assistance Programme.
Mental Health Support: Foodpack takes its responsibility for mental health seriously and encourages staff experiencing mental health issues to seek help without the fear of stigma. Foodpack has trained Mental Health First Aiders who are able to provide help and guidance to those requiring support. Foodpack also undertakes regular events and activities aimed at increasing mental health awareness and wellbeing.
Reasonable Adjustments: under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and the Equalities Act 2010, Foodpack has a duty to consider reasonable adjustments to any member of staff who has or develops a disability or long-term health condition and who needs support which enables them to conduct their role.
